Megan McKenzie has spent the last 18 months focused solely on her son, Mason, along with finishing nursing school at the top of her class. Although she's not ready to complicate her life with a long-term relationship, a nice no-strings-attached hook-up is just what she needs. At her godson's baptism, she finds the perfect candidate in the soft-spoken godfather, Pesh Nadeen. But after drinking too much, the night doesn't end the way she thought it would. Forced to leave Pesh's house through a walk of shame, Megan hopes to never, ever see him again.
For Pesh Nadeen, the very sight of Megan sends him into an emotional tailspin. There's something about the diminutive blonde that causes his protective side to go into overdrive. When Megan is assigned to work in his ER to complete her nursing clinicals, he sees it as fate, but she's having no part of it. She wants only a physical relationship while he wants far more. What happens next is a sexy game of cat and mouse to see who will break first. Will both of them eventually get more than they ever bargained for?
The Pairing Proposition Series #3 (Audible Audio Edition) Katie Ashley Justine O Keef Tantor Audio Books
We all remember Dr. Pesh Nadeen, the too-kind-for-his-own-good man that found himself sandwiched between two stubborn soul mates in The Proposal. He was that guy that was too sweet to really hate, but you still sort of wanted him to just turn up missing. Well ladies, the good doctor has returned and he’s better than he’s ever been. It’s been two years since Pesh had to go on living without his wife at his side, one year since he thought he was in love with Emma. His heart still carries the burden of being in love with a ghost, not yet realizing that he doesn’t have to stop loving Jade in order to love someone else.
Megan has returned home, finishing her schooling to become a nurse after having to give up on her dreams of being a doctor. After being crushed by her last boyfriend, and after giving birth to her nearly two year old son, Mason. She’s not looking for love or romance, knowing that her sole focus needs to be on her son and her career – a casual affair is the only thing she thinks she can handle.
When these two are asked to be Noah’s Godparents, the sparks fly instantly. For the first time in a long time, Pesh is looking at a woman and seeing what a new future might hold for him. But Megan isn’t looking for much more than a fling and Pesh isn’t the type of man that can just give his body to a woman, he needs to be able to give her his heart as well.
Thus begins this flirty dance, of Pesh wanting more, Megan denying that there is something far deeper going on – but things shift as Pesh realizes that maybe by giving her what she wants, he’ll get her to realize just what could be, eventually leading him to getting what he wants. Her heart.
"I'd be anything and everything you wanted me to be, if you would give me the chance."
Now throw in a little adorable little boy and the rest of the Fitzgerald clan and you have a fantastic love story.
So I was one of these readers that just never really cared for Pesh while he was involved in the whole Emma & Aidan mess. I had never doubted how it would all turn out, but there was no way to see him for more than just a nice guy that was in the way of my Aidan. But that all changed during the Pairing.
I am the gal that likes the alpha male jerks that are all rough edges that once in a while go sweet. The good guy that seems too good to be true, I think they’re called gentleman, right?> Well these types never really gave me butterflies. That was until now. Every bit of hostility that I held for him that carried over from The Proposal faded into the background as he bared his soul, not only to Megan, but to the readers.
Katie Ashley did an amazing job showing his struggle with the loss of his wife, without making it the focus of the story. Megan was such a wonderful heroine that although fought her feelings just a bit, was so understanding of emotions that Pesh had. It was never a competition for his whole heart, there was insecurity that lingers because of a memory.
And Mason. That little boy, what a cutie pie! Throwing a kid into the mix of a romance can sometimes kill the mood a bit. Sure we all love our HEA complete and baby-makes-three endings, but a toddler at the start of a budding romance? This little boy fit in perfectly and just made Pesh shine.
There was one particular scene that just made me melt and brought on a few tears just from being so caught up in the exchange. It was such a pivotal part of the story for these two, and I could not imagine any other words being what were spoken to progress this story forward. They. Were. Perfect.
This just made me get that full heart feeling throughout the entire book. Another fantastic job by Katie Ashley giving us two more lovable characters, a wonderful love story; all created with the sheer brilliance of her words.
“At the end of the day, true love in its many forms was all you could really hope for and cling to.”

The Pairing Proposition Series #3 (Audible Audio Edition) Katie Ashley Justine O Keef Tantor Audio Books Reviews
First I just want to say I love Katie Ashley! I follow her on Facebook ever since I read her first novel, the Proposition. I loved that book so much that I bought The Proposal. I thought the Proposal was a big let down. And the introduction of Pesh in the Aiden/Emma dynamic seemed wrong. I didn't purchase The Pairing right away when it was first published because I didn't think I would like Pesh. I was still mad at him for coming between Aiden and Emma) So when this book was reduced to 0.99 I bought it because I was curious.
This is the story of Megan, Aiden's niece, a nursing student and Pesh. They meet when they are both asked to be godparents to Noah, Aiden and Emma's son. There is an instant attraction there, but Pesh wants a real relationship and Megan wants a non-committed one. So they go their separate ways. Then two months later they meet again when Megan starts working at the same ER that Pesh works in. Soon they start hooking up even though Pesh still wants a real relationship with Megan.
As much as I enjoyed reading this story, there were a few things that bugged me. One of them was that Megan reminded Pesh of his dead wife. But this thought seemed to have come and gone. The other was the fact that Pesh pursued Emma in The Proposal and had feelings for her when she was pregnant with Noah. He took her to dinner and opera and made out with her at Aiden's front door! There's a somewhat "ick" factor there for me for Pesh having feelings with Emma, who is closer to his age, to Megan, Aiden's niece and now Emma's niece by marriage, who is twelve years younger than him.
I didn't hate this story. I didn't love it either. It was a little boring because nothing happens! Yes, there were a few steamy scenes, but there was no angst about being caught having a relationship with a co-worker. Every obstacle that could have prevented this couple to be together would come and go very quickly. There were some minor inconsistencies that I found. One was when Pesh was invited to dinner with Megan and her extended family and ham was served. Because of Pesh's culture, I didn't think he would eat pork. Also there was an inconsistency of time difference between Atlanta and Paris.
Everytime I think the story would end, it just kept going and going! I kept thinking that things could have been wrapped up sooner instead of it being dragged out. I don't regret buying this book, but it's not for me.
